How It Works

Four modes. One target: 650 Premier League goals.

The Idea

Draft a Premier League XI. Every player carries their career Premier League goals, but you do not see the number until you pick them. Add up your XI and try to reach 650.

The Team

First you pick a formation: three of ten are offered, from a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2 to a 3-5-2 or the diamond. Then you fill its 10 real spots, from left back to striker. There is no keeper. Each player plays up to two spots, the ones he was best known for. With a back four, a full back can fill the wing back spot on his side, and a winger and a wide midfielder can fill each other's spot on their side. With a back three, any wide player can fill a wide spot on his own side: a left back, left wing back, left mid or left winger on the left, and the same on the right. If a player fits more than one open spot, you choose where he goes.

In Team Spin you choose the position first, before the club and season are revealed, so you are locked in. Spins only land on clubs in the Premier League that season. If nobody in that squad fits, you get a free respin.

HIGHER OR LOWER: PREMIER LEAGUE

Our higher or lower game, on its own page on CAST Games: you know one player’s career Premier League goals, assists or appearances. Is the next player’s number higher or lower? Call it before the clock runs out.

Wildcards

Wildcards come with a free CAST Profile: one of each per game, or two of each with CAST Pass. Guests see them locked until they sign in.

Legends

Now and then in 650+, one offer is a Legends Pick: three of the Premier League’s retired greats. A Legend is a retired player with 120 or more Premier League goals, like Wayne Rooney, Thierry Henry and Frank Lampard. You get one at most per game, and it can turn up late in a game, just when you need it most.

Legends keep their goals hidden like everyone else, and they count their whole Premier League careers. They only appear in 650+.

The GOAT is Alan Shearer, the Premier League’s all-time top scorer with 260 goals. The GOAT item brings him straight into your XI.

The Rules

Where the Numbers Come From

Goals count Premier League matches from 1992-93 to now. Goals in the old First Division, the Championship, cup competitions, Europe and for countries are not included. The pool is every outfield player who has played a Premier League game.

Career goals, assists and appearances come from the Premier League’s official records, checked against Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0). The numbers are up to date as of Matchweek 6 of the 2026-27 season. Positions are each player’s real ones.
