How It Works
Spin, draft your NFL team and a whole team defence, then win all 17 games, the playoffs and the Super Bowl.
The Idea
Spin a random NFL club and season, pick one player from that roster for an open spot, and repeat until your offence is full. Your last spin is a whole team defence. Then your team joins the league and plays a full 17 game regular season, then the playoffs. Go 20-0: win all 17 games, then the playoffs and the Super Bowl. An unbeaten side is always the No. 1 seed, so it has the Wild Card Round off and three playoff wins take it to 20-0, the perfect season.
The Team
Fantasy football style, nine on offence: a quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, a tight end, a Flex and a kicker. The Flex takes a running back, a wide receiver or a tight end. A player who fits his own spot and the Flex can fill either: tap him and choose where you want him.
Once your nine are in, the last spin lands on a club and season and deals that whole team defence, like the 2000 Ravens or the 2013 Seahawks, as a single card. Your defence counts for as much as your whole offence.
The Season
Your team joins the AFC East as its fifth club. You play your four division rivals home and away and nine other clubs once: 17 games over 18 weeks, with a bye week. Every club plays its own season too, so the standings are real ones, by winning percentage. Every game has a winner: a game level at full time goes to overtime.
The Playoffs
Seven teams from each conference make the playoffs: the four division winners, seeded 1 to 4, and three wild cards. The top seed has the Wild Card Round off. Then it is one game at a time: the Wild Card Round, the Divisional Round, the Conference Championship and the Super Bowl. The higher seed is at home until the Super Bowl. Lose once and your season is over.
The Modes
| Mode | How you draft | Ratings | Wildcards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | Spin a club and season, pick 1 player from that roster, then spin your defence | Shown | 1 of each with a free CAST Profile, 2 of each with CAST Pass |
| Hard | Classic spins | Hidden until your team is full | Paid only, one of each |
| Pack | Rip open 4 packs of 5 players and a Defence Pack of 3 team defences, then pick your best team from what you pull | Shown | Immortal Picks only |
Pack cards come in five rarities: Elite, Green, Blue, Silver and Bronze. Hard Mode has its own leaderboard, so pure football knowledge gets its own ranking.
Wildcards
- Reroll: bin the current spin and get a fresh club and season.
- Reveal Ratings: show the ratings on the current roster when they are hidden.
- Remove Player: take one player out of your team and draft that spot again. If your team is full, you can still use it before you lock in.
- Star Key: your next spin has a player rated 95 or more who fits an open spot on offence (Classic only).
- Immortal Pick: choose one of three NFL icons, like Jerry Rice, Tom Brady and Walter Payton, and he joins your team at 99.
Wildcards come with a free CAST Profile. Guests see them locked until they sign in. CAST Pass adds a second of each, a Star Key every day, Substitute (move a player already in your team into another open spot he can play, once a Classic season) and Custom Seasons (pick your era and hide the ratings in Classic). Hard is Hard Mode: no free wildcards for anyone, CAST Pass included, but you can use one of each a season from your Vault or buy it on the spot.
Run It Back
Just missed out in Classic? A Run It Back runs your finished season back with one loss turned into a win: a lost Super Bowl first, otherwise your closest regular season loss. Once a season. A season run back shows a boost mark on the leaderboards, and a run-back perfect season still counts as a Perfect Season.
The Rules
- Every player can only be picked once.
- Picks are final, unless you use Remove Player.
- Your team rating is your offence and your defence, half each: the nine on offence count the same, and the defence counts as much as all of them.
- The season is simulated from your team rating: the stronger your team, the better your chances every week, but upsets happen, especially in the playoffs.
- Your best season in every mode goes up on today’s, this week’s and the all-time leaderboards, with Perfect Seasons and your longest streak.
Awards
Every season names an MVP, the regular season’s Most Valuable Player, and a Super Bowl MVP.
Where the Ratings Come From
The player pool covers every quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end and kicker who was a regular in an NFL season from 1999 to 2025, and every team defence from those seasons. Every rating is an editorial opinion of The Cast Patrol, built from production, honours and career impact, with stats from nflverse. They are debatable. That is the point. They are not official NFL ratings and may differ from any other source.
