How It Works
Pick a formation, draft your EPL XI, then win all 38 games of the season.
The Idea
Choose a formation, then spin a random EPL club and season, pick one player from that list, and repeat until your XI is full. Then your team plays a full EPL season: 38 games, everyone home and away. Win all 38 and you go 38-0. A draw breaks it, just as a defeat does.
The Team
Every draft starts with three formations on offer (4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, 3-5-2 and more). Your XI is a keeper and ten outfield spots in that shape: full backs, centre backs and wing backs, holding, central and attacking midfielders, wide midfielders, wingers and strikers. A player fills his own spots, the same flank one line up or down (a left back at left wing back, a winger at wide midfield), and a true central midfielder can drop to CDM or push up to CAM. With a back three, any wide player can fill a wide spot on his own side. If he can fill more than one open spot, you choose where he goes.
The Season
Your team plays the 2026-27 EPL, taking the place of one of the promoted clubs so the league stays at 20 teams and 38 games. Every club plays its own games too, so the table is a real one: 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, then goal difference, then goals scored. There are no finals: the top of the table are the champions, the top four play in the Champions League and the bottom three go down.
The Modes
| Mode | How you draft | Ratings | Wildcards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | Spin a club and season, pick 1 player from that list | Shown | 1 of each with a free CAST Profile, 2 of each with CAST Pass |
| Hard | Classic spins | Hidden until your XI is full | Paid only, one of each |
| Pack | Rip open 9 packs of 6 cards, then pick your best XI from what you pull | Shown | Immortal Picks only |
Pack cards come in five rarities: Elite, Green, Blue, Silver and Bronze. Hard Mode has its own leaderboard, so pure football knowledge gets its own ranking.
Wildcards
- Reroll: bin the current spin and get a fresh club and season.
- Reveal Ratings: show the ratings on the current list when they are hidden.
- Remove Player: take one player out of your XI and draft that spot again. If your XI is full, you can still use it before you lock in.
- Star Key: your next spin has a player rated 95 or more (Classic only).
- Immortal Pick: choose one of three Immortals, the all-time greats of English football, and he joins your XI at 99.
Wildcards come with a free CAST Profile. Guests see them locked until they sign in. CAST Pass adds a second of each, a Star Key every day, Substitute (move a player already in your XI into another open spot he can play, once a Classic season) and Custom Seasons (pick your era and hide the ratings in Classic). Hard is Hard Mode: no free wildcards for anyone, CAST Pass included, but you can use one of each a season from your Vault or buy it on the spot.
Run It Back
Just missed out in Classic? A Run It Back runs your finished season back with one dropped game turned into a win: your closest defeat, or with no defeats your first draw. The table is worked out again with the new points. Once a season. A season run back shows a boost mark on the leaderboards, and a run-back 38-0 still counts as a Perfect Season.
The Rules
- Every player can only be picked once.
- Picks are final, unless you use Remove Player.
- Your team rating comes from the ratings of your XI, the keeper counting a little more and the midfield and attack a touch more than the defence.
- The season is simulated from your team rating: the stronger your XI, the better your chances every week, but upsets and draws happen.
- Your best season in every mode goes up on today’s, this week’s and the all-time leaderboards, with Perfect Seasons and your longest streak.
Where the Ratings Come From
The player pool covers every EPL player from 1992-93 to now, keepers included. Every rating is an editorial opinion of The Cast Patrol, built from peak performance, era context and career impact. They are debatable. That is the point. They are not official EPL ratings and may differ from any other source.
