How It Works
Four modes. Two targets. 1000 for the NRL, 250 for the NRLW.Five modes. Three targets. 1000 for the NRL, 250 for the NRLW, 200 for World Cup Test tries.
The Idea
Draft a starting 13 of NRL players. Every player carries their NRL tries, but you do not see the number until you pick them. Add up your 13 and try to reach 1000.
The Team
You fill a standard starting 13: FB, W, C, C, W, FE, HB, P, HK, P, SR, SR, LK. Players can go into any position they are listed for, so a centre who also played wing can fill either spot. If a player fits more than one open spot, you choose where they go.
The Modes
| Mode | How you draft | To win | Wildcards |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1000+ | Roll 3 players, pick 1 | Full 13 on 1000 or more | 1 of each |
| Team Spin | Choose a position, then spin a season and club and pick from that squad in that position | Full 13 on 1000 or more | 1 of each |
| NRLW 250+ | Roll 3 NRLW players, pick 1 | Full 13 on 250 NRLW tries or more | 1 of each |
| World Cup 200+ | Roll 3 Test players, pick 1 | Full 13 on 200 senior Test tries or more | 1 of each |
In Team Spin you choose the position first, before the club and season are revealed, so you are locked in. If nobody from the squad you land on plays that position, the game spins again for you.
Wildcards
- Reroll (Respin in Team Spin): bin the current offer and get a fresh one.
- Reveal Tries: show the tries for everyone on the current offer only.
- Remove Player: take one player out of your 13. Their spot reopens and they go back in the pool. If your 13 is full but short of the target, you can still use it before you lock in.
Wildcards come with a free CAST Profile: one of each per game, or two of each with CAST Pass. Guests see them locked until they sign in. A free CAST Profile also adds an extra reroll every game.
Legends and Immortals
Now and then in 1000+, one offer is a Legends Pick: three greats of the game, most of them from before the NRL era. Rarer still is the Immortal Pick: three of Rugby League’s Immortals. You get one at most per game, and it can turn up late in a game, just when you need it most.
Legends and Immortals keep their tries hidden like everyone else, and they count their whole premiership careers (NSWRL, ARL, Super League and NRL). They only appear in 1000+.
The Rules
- Every player can only be picked once.
- Picks are final, unless you use Remove Player.
- You have 20 seconds to pick, or the first option goes in. That’s in 1000+ and the Daily Challenge. The other modes have no clock. The clock waits while the Shop or a pop-up is open.
- Your running total and how far you are from 1000 are always on screen.
- Offers are random, but players with more NRL tries turn up a little more often.
- Your result shows the luck of your draw: how many tries were on offer, against an average game.
- Club colours show the club each player last played for.
- No bonuses, no chemistry, no tricks. Just tries.
NRL Bingo
A card of 24 tiles: the 17 NRL clubs and seven rep sides, the NSW Blues and QLD Maroons (State of Origin), Australia, New Zealand, England, Samoa and Tonga. A player comes up with his position and career years: tap a tile he played for and it fills with his name. Players come up at random, so some fit none of your open tiles. You have 3 lives. A wrong tap costs one, and so does a player who fits none of your open tiles, unless you use a Reroll to skip him. There are no free skips. After each player, a pop-up shows every team he played for. Fill all 24 for a Full House. Boards rank the most tiles, then the quickest time. Play as many cards as you like: every card has a new order of players.
The pool is every NRL player since 1998 with 40 or more NRL games, plus anyone who has played in the NRL since 2022. A club tile counts his seasons there as that club (the Titans from 2007, the Dolphins from 2023, the Wests Tigers from 2000, the Dragons from 1999; Northern Eagles seasons are not Sea Eagles ones), and a mid-season move counts for both clubs. The NSW Blues and QLD Maroons each count the State of Origin games he played for that state. Australia, New Zealand, England, Samoa and Tonga count the Tests he played for that side, and England counts Great Britain Tests too. They come from Rugby League Project, checked against Wikipedia’s lists. The 1997 Super League Tri-series counts as State of Origin for the state he played for, and Super League’s 1997 Tests count for Australia. International games that weren’t Tests don’t count.
Where the Numbers Come From
Tries count NRL premiership games from 1998 to now. The 1997 Super League and ARL seasons are not included, and neither are Origin, Tests or other representative games. Legends and Immortals in 1000+ are the one exception: they count their whole premiership careers. The player list matches the 27-0 player pool (apart from a handful of greats who now appear only as Legends), and only players with a confirmed try count are in the game, including players who never scored.
NRLW 250+ counts NRLW premiership tries from 2018 to now, including finals. Women’s Origin, Tests, All Stars and one-off exhibition games are not included. NRLW data comes from Rugby League Project, with the top tryscorers checked against official club pages. Players who have only ever played off the bench take the position they have played in other competitions.
World Cup 200+ counts senior Test tries for the ten 2026 World Cup nations (Australia, New Zealand, England, France, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Lebanon and the Cook Islands), plus Great Britain, Scotland and Italy, from Rugby League Project. During the 2026 World Cup, each game’s tries and Test appearances are added once it finishes. World Legends, the international greats, sit out the normal offers: one can turn up in an offer, and a World Legend Pick lets you choose one, with his Test tries.
